Formation of PNFC
The Pa-O Federal National Council (PNFC) was established after the 2021 military coup in Myanmar, as part of a broader movement among ethnic and democratic forces to resist the military regime and build a federal democratic union.

Founded: Around 2021–2022, in the wake of the coup.

Context: It emerged as a political organization opposing the junta and advocating for federalism and self-determination for the Pa-O people.
- The Pa-O Federal National Council (PNFC) oversees the Pa-O People's Defense Force (PPDF-KD) and the Pa-O National Defense Force (PNDF-KK), operating across three regiment areas in both Upper and Lower Myanmar.


Key Objectives of PNFC

Federal Democracy: Establish a federal union in Myanmar where ethnic nationalities, including the Pa-O, can govern their own territories with dignity.

Representation: Provide a legitimate political voice for the Pa-O people in national dialogues and international forums.

Alliance Building: Work in cooperation with other pro-democracy and ethnic organizations, including the National Unity Government (NUG) and ethnic resistance groups.

End Junta Rule: Oppose the Myanmar military dictatorship through political, diplomatic, and grassroots efforts.
